How wise can a man be if he chooses to have seven hundred wives? I wonder if Solomon ever regretted that he added the rider “to govern your people” to his request of God for wisdom…. surely he could have done with a rather broader wisdom than he got?
Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, able to discern between good and evil; for who can govern this your great people?’ 1 Kings 3:9
